Most people are surprised how quickly they pick-up sailing.

We initially teach you to sail on small light yachts, rather than crew on larger ones.

This is very important as you get a real understanding of the basic principles and techniques of sailing that will form the foundation of all your future activities in the sport.

Most of our students actually take a yacht sailing, without the instructor, on their second or third day. Don't worry, the instructor is close by in a high speed boats to assist or advise as required.

The responsiveness of our small yachts enables you to feel the reactions of the yacht to your actions. This is less noticeable and slower on larger yachts.

The equipment loads on these yachts in most cases can be controlled without the use of mechanical devices that reduce feel and add complication to the early learning phases.

Additionally, the lighter load reduces the chance of injury or damage to the vessel in the case of mistakes.

In sail training, students must be able to make mistakes in a risk free environment. A good instructor will only prevent a mistake if there is risk to crew or the vessel. The term learning from your mistakes is very valid in the early phases of training.

We encourage students to make their own decisions and act on them. If they were incorrect, the results usually reflect this and review of the process usually eliminates recurrence.

It is almost impossible to train someone that will not make a decision or react to a situation.

These courses are split into the two sections below:

Day Sailing - Our unique novice structure enables you to try sailing on one of our Introductory Courses and then proceed to the Keelboat Certificate Course with a credit for the sailing you've already done.

Fast Track - Our very popular full range of Fast Track Multi-Certificate Courses are designed to maximize the benefit of a continuous training period. They commence from Keelboat and progress at Certificate levels through to Coastal Skipper. We offer modified Fast Track courses to experienced sailors who want to join the “certification stream” on a custom basis.

All the prices below are in Thai Baht ex VAT and all Keelboat and Fast Track prices include ASA Establishment and New Student Pack.

All courses include: all yacht running fees and expenses, Yachtpro Notes, Provisions (lunch on Day Courses), Yachtpro Sailing Shirt, Examination and Accreditation fees.

DAY SAILING

Introductory Certificate Course

This course is designed for new sailors to gain an overview of sailing and sail training.

Rather than a skill acquisition course, it is an on-board familiarization in a hands-on environment and can be credited to on-going training.

Completion of the Introductory Course will be credited to the Keelboat Course, shortening format and price.

Keelboat Certificate Course

The aim of the Course is to get new sailors sailing a small keelboat competently and confidently in the local area.

Our objective is that students actually take a yacht out sailing, without the instructor, on their last day. Don't worry, our training will enable you to do this.

Formats above maybe shortened in the case of previous dinghy sailing or keelboat experience.

Group Course Programmed Start Days: Monday.

FAST TRACK COURSES

Fast Track Courses enable you to start from basics and learn to an advanced level. The unique homogonous course structure enables you to benefit from continuity without a familiarization lapse and optimized instructor:student time.

These are ideal for busy people with limited time availability.

We have included below our standard formats and pricing, these maybe customized on request.

Group course programmed start date are below each table. Due to our non-cancellation policy, we reserve the right to shorten courses to the format appropriate to the number of participants while maintaining the Group Price.

Fast Track to Day Cruising

This course includes the ASA Keelboat (101) and Basic Cruising (103) and is an all day sailing format course.

It is ideal to introduce you to sailing, hone your skills on a Keelboat and familiarize you with the techniques, equipment and sailing of a small cruising yacht in the local area.
