Our Courses are formatted to ensure you reach your
chosen goal quickly and as easily as possible, whether you want
to:
- Sail your own yacht
- Skipper a bareboat on holidays
- Crew on a yacht cruising the seas
- Simply spend some time sailing with your friends.
You will notice some of our courses have an optional
longer format. These can be chosen to obtain credits to further
certifications, to consolidate your new skills or to simply enjoy
a day or two cruising.
Should you wish to go through a number of the standards below, we
will happily design a modified Fast Track program for you.
We can do theory courses and usually arrange these with students
individually.
Reading this, please bear in mind the relevant course prerequisites.
In sailing it is imperative that practical and theory components
progress in relativity.
It is also vitally important that you spend time consolidating your
knowledge with practice. To enhance this we recommend pre-study
of theory components, thereby reducing the time required for the
theory component of courses.

To give you maximum flexibility, you can book a course length of
your choosing.

Cruising Course (ASA 103 Basic Cruising)
General Description: Able to cruise
safely in local and regional waters as both skipper and crew on
auxiliary sailboat of about 20 to 30 feet in length, in moderate
winds and sea conditions.
National Training Scheme
Equivalent Level : ASA Coastal Cruising, AYF Competent
Crew, RYA Competent Crew.
Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing Certification
or appropriate sailing experience as an active crew member.

Bareboat Charter (Day Skipper) Course
General Description: An advanced cruising
Standard for individuals with cruising experience. The individual
can act as skipper or crew of a 30 -50 foot boat sailing by day
in coastal waters. The Standard includes knowledge of boat systems
and maintenance procedures.
National Training Scheme
Equivalent Level: ASA Bare Boat Charter, AYF Inshore, RYA
Day Skipper
Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing
and Basic Coastal Cruising Certification, or equivalent, and 5 Days
Sailing, 100nm. Logged and 4 night hours.

Equivalent Level : ASA Advanced Coastal Cruising, AYF Yachtmaster,
RYA Coastal Skipper
Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat
Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering and Coastal
Navigation Certification15 Days On Board (2 Days as Skipper), 300nm.
Logged and 8 night hours.

Course
General Description: To safely
act as skipper a sailing vessel on offshore passages in any weather
with Celestial Navigation.

ASA Offshore Passage Making, AYF Yachtmaster Ocean , RYA
Yachtmaster Ocean
Prerequisites: ASA Coastal Passage
& Coastal Navigation Certificates, or equivalents and 50 Days
On Board (5 Days as Skipper), 2500nm. Logged and 5 passages over
60nm.
